Is there anyone on this forum that isn't against GIA and what they do with their FO program?

I see both sides of the picture, and wanted to see what others (who don't have a problem with it) think.

save the flames, I'm not trying to start an argument just curious as to how other people look at it, and I'm not going to attend GIA.

It seems that anytime I talk to someone about it (capt, fo's, management) they don't have a problem with it, but anytime you get on the "hangar" there are very few that support it. Why is that?

::Counting down the minutes until all heck breaks loose::

Seriously guys, lets try to keep this one on track this time and not get off on a big Anti-PFT soap box! We all know how that is!!

I was told by a current pilot, who went there that it's the best way to get an airline job and become a captain. He went there after actually building hours (CFI, surveys...).

He told me that I get to their program as it was the best advice he could give me.

Ok dude...first of all, I don't know what kicks you get by hashing and rehashing your point. What's your deal? Do you need to feel vindicated or accepted by someone to help you, or someone you know, through a decision that you/they have made to become a pilot with GIA, or what?

The reality of it is that of all the GIA pilots out there, very few will post a pro-GIA comment on this board because they know that they will not be taken seriously and mocked at every chance given. I know that there are some on this web board that will post (the russian) and even though I don't agree with a lot of what they have to say, and I don't respect the company they work for (I have my own personal reasons), I respect them because they have the cojones to speak up in the face of adversity and stand up to a number of people that will criticize them. I enjoy reading this board and the opinions that are expressed by fellow pilots, however, I don't understand why you must flog a dead horse.

No a$$hole just trying to see what other people think, but I can see that that's about imposible on this forum because of people like you. Maybe I'm someone who is just trying to learn more about this industry and would like to get an opinion without a$$holes like you ripping on it. But if that's what it takes for you to get off, then by all means enjoy it. I know that there are people on this forum that actually are mature enough to address a situation and give a good and respectful answer. Nobody give a rats a$$ what you think.

Nobody give a rats a$$ what you think

Likewise...that's probably why you won't get the answer to the question that you are asking because no one respects you. Ever stop to think about that vicious circle there junior...

Nice language...try expressing yourself like an adult for a change and you might be able to earn a little respect by not calling people names. Just a thought.

Your probably right, I shouldn't of used that language (I apologize), but why did you feel the need to disrespect my request in the begining of this forum? I simply asked for no flames. All I wanted was for a simple answer from people who aren't necesarly against GIA.

I meant no disrespect by what I said...as I said in my previous post I do respect those that have the guts to mention GIA in a positive light just because I know the kind of vulgarians that post on this board. I've flown with these types for years, and in an arena like this, they are given free reign to make others feel like dirt. They feed off of the negative energy that breeds in abundance here. All I am saying is, simply, if you can't get a straight answer to your question, why do you persist if you know that the people on this message board will not take your posts seriously? You have said that you have personally asked FO's, Capt's, and Management...isn't that enough? That's great that you are optomistic in hoping that a good soul will heed your call and tell you what you want to hear...but c'mon man, this is flightinfo.com! You've been here long enough to know that you can't take anything seriously here. This is a forum for those that need to vent, or those that just like to stir the pot. I've read enough posts to know those that are flame and those that are genuine, and for the life of me, I just can't understand why anyone would persist with your question if it were not flame?

I am not against GIA. I used the FO program to shape my resume. I also instructed at their flight school. The people are great and are fun to be around. I support their process 100%. As an instructor I believe there should be other routes to learn what it takes to be an airline pilot. Not just being a CFI. I also spent half as much money between learning to fly and the GAA FO program than any of my friends that attended DCA, FSI, FIT, Pan Am, or ATA. (completing their entire 141 programs)
