Our company has recently been approached by CAE for our recurrent training. Their facility for the Gulfstream 550 is in Dubai. I was wondering if any of you have been there, and if so would please let me know their experience. If you have trained previously at FSI in Savannah, or else, please let me know the differences and are you still going to Dubai or not and why ?
Thank you

Seems to me, round trip business class ticket to Dubai and the expensive hotels would be a deal breaker. Not to mention the extra time for travel. Doubt it would work for us. What were their selling points?

Cae

You must not be in the Continental U.S. CAE just opened a facility in New Jersey which has a G550 sim and they are marketing it like crazy here in California ...

TransMach

We spend 6 months in Europe and 6 months in the USA on average, crews are evenly divided between the two continents. And FSI SAV being next to the factory has been able to answer any operational questions we had with both aircraft so far.

Eric--Check on the GA/BizAv section at pprune.org. I'm sure there are people who have been there.

And, no, it wouldn't make any sense for someone from Indiana (or any other place in the Western Hemisphere) to do their training in DXB... TC

P.S.--DXB is hideously expensive for hotels, meals AND booze!
