Kitty Hawk stops operating on Monday 10-29, a buddy of mine works there as a 727 CA. By Friday 11-02 he has four job offers, starts work again as a DC-10 F/O on 11-12. My how times have changed.

Good for him. Barely two weeks off the job, AND he gets to stay in a three-holer.

And a 3-seater, too! Job hunting because you have to sucks, a short job hunt is mo' betta. Congrats to your bud. Hope all the KH folks have similar luck.

Man, only a pilot would say there is an employment glut because a guy can find a job.

Well, or I guess maybe a recruiter.

I agree. While there may the start of a pilot shortage, as long as many are hiring with miserable, non-family supporting wages, there is no true shortage.
I doubt there will ever be a "true" shortage btw.

Yea, right..........There is as much of a pilot shortage as there is a shortage of non-illegal immigrant tomato pickers that want to work for $2/hr. There is just a shortage of qualified and experienced pilots that will work for $15K to $50K per year. This industry is pathetic. In just a couple more years, you will have to go to some dung heap in rural Cambodia to find someone who thinks that flying for an airline in the US is an improvement over collecting turds for a living.

Hey! I resemble that remark, LOL! I for one am glad that getting a flying job is so much easier. That whole "fly for food" thing was sad.

If we are lucky this turn in the industry will begin to improve our QOL and concurrently $$$$$$. I personally still feel the pain of money spent and money gained.

The hardest part was finding out "chicks" don't dig pilots but prefer DRs who make money and have their own plane. Dang it!

^^^^^

You're not "a" recruiter, you're THE recruiter. And everybody knows all the chicks dig G.H. of the Mighty Pythons!

Any way to make this post a sticky? Best damn quote i've seen in a long time on FI!!!
