You are a CFI and have taken and passed the FOI, so all you have to do to get your IGI now is to complete an 8710 and take it and your Airman Written Test Report to the FSDO. You'll walk out with an Instrument Ground Instructor temporary. To get an AGI, take the AGI written, which is drawn from the same question bank as the Commercial and CFI writtens. Take the written test report from it along with your IGI certificate and a completed 8710 and you'll receive another Ground Instructor temporary with Advanced and Instrument ratings.
I have both the AGI/IGI. Your certificate will say GROUND INSTRUCTOR:
ADVANCED INSTRUMENT
you have already taken the IGI portion; the AGI is the same except you turn in your results from the AGI written exam. The test bank of questions for that exam come from the Flight Instructor knowledge exam.
Just take the results to the Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) and they will issue you a certificate, as long as you already hold a current ground instructor certificate, Certified Flight Instructor certificate, or results from the Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI) written exam.
