OK.....so it's been 9 months now since the DOJ website has been online to process background checks on foreign nationals (please correct me if I'm mistaken). I posted a similar thread back then asking about wait times. So has anyone been through this process, and been cleared to train in aricraft > 12,500lbs? and if so how long was the wait? Has anyone lost a job offer over this?

35 days for me!

Took 35 days for me, you have to have your **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** together and provide correct info for them. otherwise it might take long time!

Know friends of mine who it took over 6months!

It also depends where you born!

Were you a "first time" >12,500lbs trainee, or was this for re-current training? Where were you born? I was born in Brazil, so I should be "low risk". Fingers crossed.

I've been through the process 3 times in the last 12 months and had no problems so far (knock on wood). Eadc time the paperwork was processed about 4 to 5 weeks ahead of the assigned class date.

Green card holders

Went through DOJ process including fingerprinting less than 2 months. Got typed in B737 at higher power aviation in Dallas. excellent school for type ratings.

A friend of mine has been in the US for long enough to be a citizen and has finally gotten sick of the hassle every time he has to do recurrent. He will soon be a real citizen to avoid the potential mess if any of the paperwork gets missplaced or incorrectly filed.

No Problems

Upgrade and two six month checks and I havent had to deal with any paperwork at all, filled out one form last year and none since.
