I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance.

They were right. I made a 15 minute call to Geico and saved hundreds on my car insurance.

I was paying 200. a month and now I'm paying 88.

buhahaha

$200 a month!!!!! What have you done wrong? 3 DUI's, and 5 crashes in one year shouldn't equate to $2400 a year in car insurance. I pay $625 a year for two cars with two drivers.....and it ain't Geico!

That's what zero violations and no crashes in 20 years can do for you.

A lot of it depends on the state you live in. My insurance on a 2001 half ton pickup is $140 a month....no accidents, no claims, one ticket in the past ten years - no tickets on my DMV record(went to traffic school for that one). Jan of 2003, the insurance in my state went up by 50%. The insurance companies claim they are trying to "recoup their costs from 9/11", and this state does nothing about it. Some states have limits on annual insurance increases, Florida does not. I could get my insurance for $10 a month cheaper, but I'd rather stay with a company that I know and trust.

I have
Zero accidents
Zero claims
Dui's ? yeah right
Zero tickets
And a defensive driving course.

I guess 200. a month is what a 26 year old in NY pays with a 92 ford escort ??

I guess I should be thankful I live in Minnesota then, and not in NY. I would suspect that you are NOT married?????

Get a wife and usually you're a better 'risk' for the underwriters of insurance. Of course, then you got a whole new can of worms and costs (tic)

Married, no thanks.
I almost made that mistake 'twice'

200 down to 88? all other things being equal, id be willing to bet you dont have the same limits now as you did on your old policy ;)

Wait till you try and make a claim.
I have been with GIECO for years and have never had a problem with claims. Two years ago, my auto was stolen. I had a check in my hand in just a few days for the top value of my auto. They are outstanding!

Identical limits.
id double check. we tried the same thing awhile back and they came with a quote that was 20% lower, but some of the comp limits were changed and the deductibles too. "full coverage" has alot of options built into it that they dont necessarily tell you about.

im just sayin its hard to believe 200 to 88 (thats a +50% drop) unless you were a high risk driver and now arent, maybe a ticket or two fell off, or perhaps were with a no-name company in the first place...im telling ya, something changed :)

I got suckered in to the "15 minutes could save you.." so I called out of curiosity. About 25 minutes later I found GEICO wanted more than 50% over my current policy for the same coverage. Then again I have USAA and would be willing to pay a little more to stay with a company as good as they are. I think you're paying a lot of advertising to stay with GEICO. And State Farm sucks too.
