He is an exerpt of a post on the IPA message board. It was posted by a person that is usually very reliable and credible but take it as a rumor for now, but a very credible on at that.

The word over in the Pac Rim is that vacancy bid will most likely come
out on Thursday or Friday. From what I was told, it is going to be
big. Approximately 77 Captains and 43 F/O's! Most vancancies are on
the Md-11 and A300. They are also filling any Captain who are going
to turn 60 in 2005. This is strictly a vacancy bid, no realignments.
This will really be a total of 120 F/0 upgrades because of the Captain
bid. I wonder if some of the new hires will find a right seat.

I'm not based in ONT ( It's only a 757/767 base ) but as a general rule it's fairly senior in both seats.

Not quite accurate ... FN is correct that in very general terms ONT is senior, however the bottom FO has a seniority number of 2387 (very close to the most junior systemwide FO). New hires could expect ONT in fairly short order (1 year) as long as there is systemwide movement through vacancies ... as there appears there will be.
