Mesaba2425,

You are incorrect, it appears Doug Voss made money!! But remember Great Lakes is not supposed to be a money making company! NO, It's a tax write-off for Voss' other venturs. As far as Voss is concerned, he'll take a hit at tax time if this keeps up. I'm sure there'll be a staff meeting sometime next week to discuss how this happened!!!

Dont think they are going to be calling poolies in anytime soon. A friend told me that he was furloughed along with 20 some others.

Move On!

Mooser, please, for your own good, move on. Get a job anywhere else. Lakes is now furloughing back to the November 2003 class. That means the number ahead of you is reaching close to 75 pilots. If you are qualified to go somewhere else, do so.....at least until a "recall" goes out to you. At least at Eagle you could make money in training and then go to Lakes if they ever call. If not, you are at a stable company that doesn't furlough every year! Seriously, once your eyes are opened to a larger airline, you might never answer that call back from Lakes....and the sad truth is, the chief pilot knows that. I spoke to him recently and he said he didn't blame me for moving on.....he was excited for me.

Now that's hilarious!! I can just see the monday morning quarterback session now,, "How did we ever turn a profit, you people know that's not supposed to happen, Now, unless we start losing money, heads will roll!!" Sounds twisted huh??

What about Big Sky?? Lakes should be in a position to acquire Big Sky, Of course that would mean expansion, and that's not in the long term for Great Mistakes!!

Mooser, take Xtreme's advise, I'd vominose if I were you!!

I only wish that Mesaba would unload Big Sky. Mesaba's money would be better invested if they were togive out hundred dollar bils to the pan handlers in downtown MEM and telling them "please use this for food, not crank."

For Mooser

Hey man! Great Lakes is a great opportunity for someone with lowtime to get in, get some airline experience in a fun aircraft, and most importantly.......move on. I speak from experience.

But....your not there, and your not gonna be there for a long time. Get off the computer, go out and build up some more hours and experience, and try your best to get hired somewhere else.........135, Eagle, whatever. I really dont see why you are in such a hurry to get bent over in everywhich way you can imagine.

Just sent my resume out

Mooser

Getting the resume out...

Mooser- I hope I didn't offend you. Just wanting to see all my friends at Lakes make it. I had interviews at TSA, Eagle, ASA, and XJT. They are all lowering their minimums. Eagle is down to 1000/100 me and XJT now down to 800/100. I am in class with two other furloughs from Lakes and current pilots for Lakes are interviewing at my airline as well. The key is the seniority number, and even i don't technically have one from Lakes, because I got furloughed before my checkride....but without being bound by the training contract. :) If you need help, pm me....good luck!

Mooser, you can always reapply with Eagle after 6 months...aren't you getting close to that now?

Press Release - IBT President James Hoffa Sends Letter to Congressmen

TEAMSTERS PUT PRESSURE

ON AIRLINE MANAGEMENT

State Legislators Notified of Airline’s Treatment of Pilots

(Houston, TX) – Congressmen of Colorado and Wyoming recently received a letter from International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President, James Hoffa. In that letter, Mr. Hoffa urged the state legislators to contact the management of Great Lakes Airlines and express their concern over the stalled contract negotiations for the Great Lakes pilots.

“In the coming weeks, if there is not an agreement, the Union will be publicizing the issues involved. This action alone will be of concern to many travelers, but this is the only step by which the Union can try to resolve the matter,” said Mr. Hoffa in the letter.

Any further stalls in negations could potentially lead to a release by the National Mediation Board and possible service disruptions to the Great Lakes route structure, especially those cities served solely by the airline.

Negotiations for the Great Lakes pilots have been taking place since October of 2000, and they have not received a pay raise since 1999. Working under the lowest pay scale in the regional airline industry, the hardworking Great Lakes pilots deserve a respectable wage scale that will bring them up to industry standard.
