I found this item in Mail call from the National Guard magazine. It's published by the National Guard Association of the United States.

"As (Lt. Col.)Cordier said in his July letter, Guardsmen and Reservists need to urge their elected representatives in Washington to pass H.R. 742 and S. 1035."

/s/
Retired Maj. Vernon Shelton
Mississippi Army National Guard

I don't know MAJ Shelton, but do know LTC Cordier. I agree with the sentiments of both. If you want/need your retirement benefits at 55, contact your representatives in Washington. There is no way this will pass if we are silent.

Several people I know need the coverage as early as possible. Others inside, and outside D.C., now view this as a retention issue. I don't need it at 55, but it certainly would be nice to have.
