Does anyone have any info on Grand Aire, or Tricoastal?

I've heard stories, like tight FAA scrutiny, after their deals in 2003.

Just wondering if going there to fly Metros is a good idea?

Thanks.

Grand Scare!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think this company is on anyone's list of places to work.

If considering Grand Aire, Tri coasting or whatever they are calling themselves these days.....I'd have a really great life insurance policy.

Hi!

Tricoastal is the new name for Grand Air.

THey crashed 2 Falcons on the same day and switched the operation to their other certificate. They don't use the name Grand AIr anymore.

I'm suprised that everyone feels that way about Grand Aire. I know they crashed two Falcons, but don't you think the pilots have to take some responsibility? I flew for grand aire for almost 5 years in the falcon, I was an instructor and check airman, the falcon is one of the safest business jet's I've ever flown. T.C. isn't the easist person to work for, but if you do what's right he will respect you. I've flown that falcon all over the world, anyone would be foolish not to get the experience GAE has to offer.

Grand info

From interviews I have done on present GA pilots, it seems most are looking for jobs, they do not feel the future at GA/TC is all that great. When you check the NTSB records on the DA-20 over the 7 years you will find 7 events, 5 are GA, it speaks for itself. All that aside many pilots have gone on to successful careers after working at GA. It is MEL turbine and it still looks good on your resume.

I'm not saying they haven't had thier problems, but as a DA-20 Check airman you should know how safe the aircraft is. During my tenure there there were 0 accidents or inccidents in the falcon, I will take the credit for that, I trained my instructors to be tough and fair at the same time. Anyone who takes a job there has to step up and take some responsibility for safety, you can blame the company all you want, but if you sign for the A/C as PIC your as much or more responsible.

Pilotyip

I guess the fact that FEDEX has hulled out 5 or 6 in the the last 5 or 6 years speaks volumes for that company as well. What an moronic statement.

(Fedex crews, I am sorry for using that as an example)

Pyip does "it speak for itself" that you have all that time and a/c flown and are a DA-20 capt at an on demand freighter company?

(for you boys at USA JET I am sorry you are in the company of such an arrogant person)

Captdawg I sent you a PM. Get back to me when you have time.

Oh yeah...... why don't you tell that to wallac's wife "Widow". He was a d a m n good pilot and was there for a while. Chief pilot and all..... and the plane crashed on final to the runway a few months back. "You'll take credit for that" ???? What years were there? You wouldn't by any chance wear glasses and have a jarhead haircut would ya?

ACT700,

I've known a few people that have died in cargo ops, pilot error, Bad A/c, WX???? dunno, wasn't there, but the one plane you DO NOT want to fly is the Metroliner for Grand Aire. They have gotten worse and worse and its just not worth it. It was the hardest pilot position at Grand Aire. Single pilot, lots of freight and you had nobody there to help you or keep you awake on those long ass flights. And you'll have a waky paki that calls you his white little slave. <----- No SH%T...... heard it out of that mutherf%ckers mouth myself..... its the closest I've ever come to ruining my life, by killing him.

Oh and the new name is Tri Coastal air...... as in TC Air, the paki's name is Tahir Cheema.

I felt terrible about wallec, I knew him but when I left he wasn't flying the falcon. I didn't train him. And what does being chief pilot have to to with with anything? I was there from 94 to 98. I have a felling you know me, and I also know T.C. and I've flown with him, and he did as I told him, all the way to Russia and back. I don't know why you have a hard on for them, they were"at the time" one of the better 135 freight companies, I don't know much about them the last 6 years.
Single pilot metro flying was always difficult, I never did it, I went straight into the falcon due to my jet experience. Getting pissed at T.C. is nothing new, your problem is letting him get to you. Oh, well, we've all moved on.
And Yes, I use to wear glasses, but never had a jarhead haircut. If your interested in Who I Am, PM me.

When some jag off calls his pilots "his white little slaves" that kind of rubs me the wrong way. But hey thats just me...... Yeah I was there at that time..... your last name does'nt start with an M does it? Its just not worth working for guys like him and unfortunately if you own or run a 135 freight company you have to go through the same A$$hole course while in school. Come to think of it.... they made that course a requirement for Airline CEO's now too :)

Good luck at Spirit.

When are you guys getting the 320's anyhow?

sorry for the thread creep.

I agree with Networ..Tahir Cheema is the biggest prick I have ever met!! TC Air has got to be the worst place to work.
