When I was an airline puke I wanted every weekend off and bid that way....now I am back in the corporate world and am also a bit of a Mr. Mom. I NEED a weekend job. The wif's job is the moneymaker and her schedule is KILLING me...plus a deployment is coming up.

Can anyone point me in the directon of a shuttle or some kind of scheduled cargo in the NC/MD/VA area?

At least I have inlaws on the weekend if I need them. The rest of this scheduling stuff is for the BIRDS.

Thanks

That would sure be nice, but either I am not resourceful enough to seek one out, or they are just hard to find. Seems to me that MOST people don't want to work on weekends and that there should be some kind of demand, but what do I know? Any ideas? Thanks

I've got TWO!

I have two small children (ages 5 and 2). It's not easy, but thanks to seniority going up all the time, I'm able to bid for 4 days every other week (usually it's thurs-sat) and I fly afternoons into the night. Working weekends keeps the majority of my week free for the kids. Hubby flies military, and when he's here we work it pretty well, but he just deployed, so I'm having lots o' fun now doing it all alone!

I bring in the overnighter a/c to the outstation I live in (not the base) and do only 2 overnights a month. That's just the way it works out, and I'm able to be home with the kids in the morning, take the oldest to kindergarten and pick him up at noon. My show times have been about 3pm, so the kids were normally left with my best friend who's a stay-at-home mom, but just until dinnertime when hubby picks them up. Right now, my friend keeps them for me on overnights. We don't have family here, but I have non-revved the grandparents down to cover me if I get into a bind. Kids added to a flight schedule really keep things interesting!

gotta kid??? huh?

oh....got a kid - that's what you mean.

Gotta, is slang for 'got to' - and your question makes no sense.

So glad there are people out there that have nothing better to do than correct your grammar.

I have a 20 month old son. What a handfull. Luckily the wife is a teacher and our daycare is really flexable.

I believe you intended to start your sentence with "I am" or the contraction "I'm." My wife really misses flying, as she's been home for the last 2+ years. We are trying to figure out how she can work, but it's difficult without family nearby.
