I received a letter from Kalitta today basically saying "we received your resume and it is on file". What would be the best way to follow this up? Anyone at Kalitta know?
Thanks!

Everyone that applied within the last 3-4 months has been sent this letter. Someone told me they were having a problem with there system if you emailed them your resume. This was just a way to verify they got it. Dont know on the validity of that story. A friend is heading to a career fair in Florida where they are supposed to be this weekend. That would probably be a good move to meet them in person.

Yep, everyone got that letter. Don't know why, but it doesn't really mean anything. It's just a verification that they have your stuff on file.

They were at the career fair in MIA today. They're looking for 3000TT for FOs and 1500TT for SOs with a 1 year seat lock. They said that they are going to need to double the amount of crews and will be hiring constantly for the next 2 years at least. If you miss the career fair, I hear it's a good idea to walk your stuff in up in YIP if you can get there.

Count me in as getting the "letter." Was there any word as to how fast upgrades are taking place? Is this hiring for growth or attrition?

Upgrades are pretty quick apparently. Possibly even less than a year if you've got good heavy jet time. They said that hiring was mostly for growth. They've been turning away business because they just don't have enough crews. They said that they currently have about 65 crews and want to have 130 within 2 years.

So, the next question I have is, if I go to YIP and to their offices, do I just show up unannounced and plop my resume on the desk or is it a good idea to call ahead, etc. I am thinking of going next month.

Send Xfr8dog a PM and ask him the best way to do it. He got his job at Kalitta by walking in to the office at YIP. Good luck.

Rumor is you could live anywhere in the world after your training and they will deadhead you to the closest A/C to start your trip. Just wondering if there's any truth to it?

Well actually no. Everyones currently based in YIP (detroit) so if its better for the company (cheaper) to fly you to the plane from Detroit its up to you to get yourself there. This hardly ever happens but its in the current contract so if you piss people in scheduling off i guess you'll be jumpseating alot to YIP! New contract is going to be settled very soon and everyone will be Officially homebased after that...

I just got one of these letters. I guess now I will have to hope that they are going to be at the next Aeroservices fair in June - I know I will be...

I also got a letter I went there personally and also sent by email, once there they gave me a 2 pages only application, no flight times just references former employers and other stuff. They attached that application to my resume and that was it.

Now 3 days later I got the letter on the mail.
Now just waiting to hear something else.
Anybody there who got the letter and a call for interview??

Which career fair was this and where and when will the next one be? Who attended the fair? I am interested in ATLAS and would like to know which fairs they attend. Thanks
