yeah, sounds like old man Jennings tried to take Google for a ton of dough, over charged in materials too, so he got the shaft. Good for google.

Someone around here should know a little more about it. Whether he'll say anything is the question (I surely would not)

Anyone have the tail number?

I assume it's going live at Oakland or San Jose with Google HQ on the peninsula.

San Jose has zero hangar space for something that size. Most of the big corporate toys are at Stockton or McClellan.

My guess is it will be kept out of state to avoid California taxes. I know a lot of people who keep planes in places like Reno for that reason. Besides that, is there a private hangar large enough in those places to house a 767? What a big waste of time, money and other resources.

McClellan is an ex military base. ATI has a maintenance base there, as does Flight Options. I toured the hangars once and there were two private 727s in one hangar along with assorted other business jets, a DC-3, and the shiniest P-51 I have ever seen... and there was plenty of room left, and several other hangars not even being used.

I know of a couple of people who keep their jets in Oregon to avoid taxes but I think the inconvenience and cost of repositioning flights to pick up the owner balances the tax savings unless it's the right situation. I think most people end up keeping their toys close to home.

Looks like you have all the answers, both financial and moral.
