from the espn.com article detailing hendrick's 200 crash:

Both pilots were experienced, the report said. It does not draw a conclusion on the cause of the crash but does note the plane was not certified for instrument-only flight and did not have a ground proximity warning system. Witnesses reported the mountain was obscured by clouds and fog.



so you king air 200's out there better get certified for instrument-only flight. must be a seat of the pants king air. i'm assuming the reporter is misquoting the fact that the gps database was not ifr certified.
