Anyone going to be in Phoenix overnight before interview on Wednesday? Staying at the hotel want to cram? I know we should relax but am very excited and would love to field questions and answers if someone would be hanging out.

Best of luck to you. Relax and just be yourself.

Know the METAR codes you will be asked to read one. They are realy great people. So, just relax. Yes I, know thats easy for me to say. Good luck!!!

P.S. If they say anything about an upcoming ERJ class please PM me. I am currently holding at the OM for an ERJ class thanks.

King2345,

You must be one of those miserable ALG pilots. Hate everyone because your company is failing. I'm sure glad not all ALG pilots behave that way!

Congrats on the interview..... Best of luck!

Get your stuff in with CHQ and some
others, and use the Mesa interview
for practice!!!

Good luck but don't mention me, I heard
they are trying to get t-prop CA's off
the street!!! Er, well, the way things
is at corpex, maybe I should give you
my resume to carry in...is this your first
airline job? If so, stay happy for as long
as you can! Again, good luck!

Hey if you meet JO tell him the ACA pilots said fu(k off!!!

ROFLMAO!!!!!:D

Another Mesa hopefull, so full of fire and brimstone........If you get hired by Mesa, try to work (and vote) with dignity, not for hedonistic, short-term gain.

Good luck.

"Mesa hopeful?"

Kind of like 'military intelligence."

Another CFI, looking to go to a pilot back breaking airline. I really hope you reconsider and hold out for another more respectable run airline.
Did anyone see the pic of J. Ornstein on the front page of the "money" section of USA Today? Thinking he is "Billy bad ass". I love the quote "one of his 15 motorcycles", what a greedy bastard. That's ok, God will judge him and his "scrooge" like ways. I hate to say this, I never wish death upon anyone, but I hope there is a bunch of senile <<spelling??, old ladies driving around him and his phalic symbol motorcycle. (you think he's trying to make up for something?? , he just has a wee little pee-pee)

I have to differ with several of the posters who say don't work at MESA. A new hire turning down a job at MESA is not going to hurt them one bit or help the industry. If you don't have turbine or line experience you'll be more competetive for a good job after spending a few months there. Use them for the experience and move on as quickly as possible.

No problem. There are a ton of jobs out there right now.

Good luck ProPilot5 and don't let the idiots on this board discourage you.

I disagree with your statement that turning down a job with Mesa will not help. It's all about supply and demand. If no pilot would take a job with Mesa, management there would have no other choice then to make the job more appealing (better pay & work rules) unfortunately there are too many sell-outs out there, that will work under "sweat-shop" conditions just to fly a airliner.
Oh I'll just go there and get some experience, believe me this is the attitude, shi$fu#k Ornstein, is looking for. Perfect for his grand scheme of lowering pilot wages to minimum wage.
Be proud of your proffesion and keep on trying to get an interview with a honest company, it will happen. I'm sure you make the minimums at a many other companies.
Yeah, don't listen to the idiots that are already deep in the industry, and know a lot less then a civilian private rated pilot. The irony is his call sign "mesaba". An airline at the mercey of management whipsawing.

hey western michigan,

i guess the short time you have at skywest has made you an expert. since you're so smart, please solve the middle east crisis.

go back to kalmazoo and shut up.

How quickly we all learned that we wanted to be fighter pilots and 747 drivers, how great it would be and is. Checked the correct boxes, passed all the checkrides, excited of the great future ahead. But no one ever told us about the real industry, stock holders, margins, labor, work rules, negotiations. Flying airplanes is one of the greatest jobs in the world, but there is a history and a legacy of those flyers that came before us and made it what it is. There may have been a day when management looked out for the intrests of its pilots, but that day was short lived and has passed. Believe me, moral of labor groups is not mentioned in the archaic Harvard business model.
So like PIGS LED TO THE SLAUGHTER , our young brothers and sisters head off into the great future. I did it and I'm sure the majority of of you reading this did it. Just out of college, 24yrs old and the industry on the climb. "Just get me in the seat".. Wrong? Well, yes. But hard to sell it to a CFI. There are answers to these problems, and I don't pretend to have them all. Maybe the 747 Captains need to include the Saab FO's and CE152 CFI's in the club..? Flightschool, most of us learned nothing more than how to keep the blue side up. One of the best jobs in the world, indeed, but there were many before us that worked hard to make it just that.
MESA AIRLINES IS A BIG THUMBS DOWN.
LIKE PIGS LED TO THE SLAUGHTER.
Think it over.

Well... it's obviously supply and demand and as it stands right now whomever turns down any aviation job better than your current one is just giving it up for someone else to take. There are too many pilots looking for work and frankly (even though it seems things are slowly improving) if YOU say no to a job offered because YOU think it degrades the rest of the industry I WILL accept that job as long as it furthers my career from my present position regardless of if I sincerely like the company or not. The only smart thing to do is accept the job and get the experience as long as it's a stepping stone in the right direction for yourself!

My two cents...

hey mesabashers,

should all the j4j pilots have turned down mesa?

FYI....

The Mesa J4J positions are about to be finished. Everyone who expressed an interest in Mesa (FO) has been called. They still can't get enough pilots to take the job. What they do now is to call everyone back, in reverse seniority order, to offer them the slot again. When they get to the top of the list, they go back down one more time. I'm guessing that if someone passed the first time, they are going to pass again. So therefore, the list should be exhausted soon. At that point Mesa is free to hire off the street for all remaining FO positions (flying under U code).
Currently, they are filling the captain slots, so I can't speak to how long it will be before all of the Mesa jobs are filled from within, or from the street.
