Living in South Florida what should a guy typed in both the GIV AND LRJET make flying Part 135. Co Captain in the GIV and Captain in the Learjet. Thanks for your help.

Dude

I was thinking more like 90 to 105k.

Dude,

English is more than right. 90K minimum, 105K is more in the ball park, and I wouldn't talk to anyone for less than 120K, least I was completely out of a job and options. But, the SoCal and NYC markets might be stiffer than Miami.

I think that Miami is diffinently stiffer than SoCal and NYC areas. There are a lot of people who will fly for nothing, as in Staledog. I was thinking of 80k as a minimum, but then you can make 80k at most places flying as PIC for the learjet. So how much do I add for my Co-Captain experience in the G-IV. I don't want to add to much and scare anyone off, and I don't want to low ball. If I lowball, I will be unhappy after three months of them flying my arse off. If I ask for 100k I will feel like a jack.a.s.s. I know I deserve it, but I can't see them hiring me for that price at a 135 outfit in SoFlo. I am also at a loss for how to negotiate this, and tips in this area or leads on articles for new hire salary discussion would be great. More help please. Thanks guys and gals.

Dude

hey man, note i said AT LEAST 50K. and also I wouldn't call that flying for nothing. starting out at 19 grand at some commuter is flying for nothing. anyway, if you can get a hundred or more, great.

Your best bet is to have someone look up NBAA salary numbers for you. I'd do it for you but I no longer have access to the guide - unless you can hold out until I get back from the NBAA convention next week.

If no one else responds to you by next week, send me a PM and I'll get it for you while I'm in Vegas.
