Alright guys, we bought a GIII, what do I need to know about the airplane. It has the universal 809 dash in it with synthetic vision so i know the sim won't even be close. What sims do they have at flightsafety dallas? We bought a DC machine but we are going to AC initial with DC differences, are there two different sims or how does that work? What should i expect in initial?

Don't even worry about your plane you will have 3 weeks to learn all about the GIII and when you get home learn your specific aircraft. The sim will have efis and universal fms. UNS-1C i think. The AC is a little more automated but the DC isn't bad. They only have 1 sim at DFW. Learn your limitations and you will be fine.

Chris,

At this point you're in way over your head. Immediately quit and seek employment at McDonalds. They are hurting for someone with your skills and would be extremely happy to have you.

actually at FSI, its 1 sim for the GIII. A changeover is conducted by our sim techs to swap from AC to DC. PM me if you have any questions I may be able to help.

Dan, you couldn't be more correct. How does he continue to con good people out of these type ratings? This is getting dangerous.

haha real funny azzhole. What's up boys, i have been in South America for what feels like a year. I will call you when I get a chance.

Is the aircraft EFIS equipped or mostly analog? Regardless, it will be good to have Gulfstream time - that will only make you more valuable in the market.

it has the Universal Synvision 890 EFIS, 5 tube efis, RTU's, WSI weather, jeppview, all the goodies

Except for electrics and avionics there is not really much difference in the rest of the systems. Hydraulics, pressurization, flight controls, powerplant are all the same.

Sounds like you got lots of neat toys...do you have the same autopilot?

Here is the MOST important thing to remember about Gulfstreams....
Once you have seen one... you have seen 1.

The instructors at simuflite are very cool and understand. They all seem to hand fly the same. I have a great study guide for the oral.
