for free? absolutly go for it if you have the energy. Its hard for me to stay motivated with the advanced education.

Will it help career advancement in corp aviation? who knows....wont hurt, thats for sure.

If you sit a lot on trips you can get a lot of work done, assuming you are doing this online. Even overseas just about everyplace has highspeed these days. I dont sit much, and getting home and have the discipline to get online and do schoolwork is very hard, Im finding Id rather have time with the family or just relax..

GOOD LUCK!

Hey G200-

You have approximately 3200 posts

3200 posts x 5 min. per post = 16,000 min just posting responses

that equals about 267 hours on this site posting.....

which equals more than 11 straight days online JUST posting on this site.

And we know you do more than post on this website.

You could have had an mba by now.

Just an observation, and also JUST KIDDING!

G200. Take from an old timer .DO It. You don't want to be looking back at some time saying "I wish" "I wish". Plus if you have the chance some time for a management position it will look great against the competition. JW

Now don't laugh but...... I was looking into Embry-Riddles online MBA program a few years, ago. It's geared toward the aviation prof. already working in he field with a busy schedule. It would have worked out perfect for me working on the road and carrying a laptop. I talked to a few people enrolled in the program and they said it was actually a very good program. My former company would pay 100% of grad work. My new company would'nt pay for a box of Cracker Jacks. Anyways, I would go for it if you have the time and gumption. Good luck.

no but they had an ATM 3 doors down that took me for some francs!

JW - I hear ya, its a nice thing to have...but one needs to be VERY motivated to finish it. As far as Management and an MBA goes, I once thought it meant more than it really does IMHO. Im not sure if Im 100% there - There is something said for flying your trips and going home! All my extra work is done online (hence Im here a lot!) Very little office time is nice in my life right now.

Maybe that will change someday....either way I agree anyone who has the energy should get it. Education is never a waste IMHO

gear guy -- you are right on! could have had it by now! 4+ yrs of wasted time here...thing is I have about a 4min attention span. (good for FI.com) the online courses kill me as they require more...just-cant-do-it.

Ahh, the Crazy Horse. We usually stay at the Pershing Hotel, right down the rue from the CH. Is it worth the money for the show, G200?

Les Bains is the BEST nightclub in Paris for 3 Reasons :
1. The hottest women.
2. Good food (Thai);
3. The hottest women.

It's not a strip club but.... did I mention the women?

humm...thanks G21!

might have to look that one up!

:)

For what it is worth, (talking MBAs here and not Parisian Strippers), I would recommend an MBA that is from the best school you can get into. Not many people outside of aviation have ever heard of Embry Riddle, and were you ever to need an MBA for something outside of flying, that degree would not do much for you. I have an MBA and it has made a difference several times in my career both in and out of flying, and the skills have been very useful.

The degree from ER may be great, you just might want to get some input from non-flying types prior to making the huge time investment.

And I was beginning to think "MBA" now stood for "More Boobs Anyone?" :D

I think that the key point here that nobody has mentioned, is that having an MBA will be of no help at all with Parisian strippers. So is it really worth it?

Why does it matter where the degree is from? As long it is a accreditted school. Also ER has more than aviation degrees don't they. They have engineering degrees too, I believe. All anyone has to do is look on the internet to find out about ER. No I do not have a degree from ER, I am just trying to make a point.
