Right after I finished college, I decided that I didn't really want to fly professionally. The industry just wasn't looking good, so I decided that I'd go be a controller. I'm currently in a CTI school, and will be graduating in May to wait for "the call" from the FAA. But while I'm going through school, I need a job. I'm sick of doing the restaurant server thing, so I'm half tempted to go do some CFI'ing.
The only problem is that I haven't flown in almost 8 months, and haven't really been flying regularly for almost a year and a half. Suffice to say, currency isn't my friend. Also, just in case ATC falls through, I want to be able to readily get back into flying.
What do you think the odds are of me actually landing a CFI job, assuming I could go up and do a flight or two to get caught up again? The recency of experience is what's killing me, but I don't know how else to approach this.
