Airline pay and bennies suck ass, the fracs are the future of flying careers, $110,611. after 5 years and a 3 week vacation every 4 months at Netjets, 3 week vacation every 3 months after ten years.

Did you say something? I was staring at your avatar.

It took me a few minutes to get my eyes off of Ms. RedEye1, but I think he said ...

And what about freight? Guys at USA Jet, Tradewinds, Atlas, Focus, et al are pulling down some pretty good jack, also get varying destinations, and they get to fly pretty cool equipment, too. Flying freight all over the planet in DC-9s, 747s, or A300s ... that's got ME written all over it. :D

Hey Yip, you may want to read up on what's happening economically in this country. We're likely headed for a severe consumer/housing led recession in the next year. Consumer spending is already hitting the skids with housing declining and credit cards maxed out. When people can't leverage their home equity any longer, they won't be travelling/vacationing as much as they have been the past few years. Airlines will be in a world of hurt...yet again...

flic1:

On top of all that add the ever-increasing cost of oil. As it continues to rise, the hurt is going to increase on the airlines not only from the increase in operating costs (gas second only to employee $$), but from a further loss of said cash-strapped customers.

Flic only time will tell, there are some negative signs and a lot of positive signs. All I know is years ending in 8 are great years for finding a job, and years ending in 3 are bad years for finding jobs.
