Having completed both parts 121 and 135 ATP/ATA written exams, does a general "ATP cerfitication flight" certify you for ops under both parts?

An ATP is an ATP, no way to tell how you got it. The 135/121 thing is just to make it easier to take for operating under either one of the parts. Coming from P-3's I would think the 121 would be easier for you, fan charts, big airplane systems, and stuff.

Are you asking if you take the ATP written exam and then an ATP checkride (form 8710) then it certifies you for a 121/135 operation? If so then neither. A 121 or 135 operator with FAA blessing (either FAA inspector or operator checkpilot) (form 8410) "certifies" you to fly for a particular operation. The 121 vs 135 section on the written exam will not have any bearing on the type of operation you may be flying in the future. It doesn't matter which section you take. The examiner will be able to ask you pertinent info on any areas on the written you were found deficient.

Thanks for the help. I probably wasted my time and money, but I took both exams. Oh well. After staring at all the charts, I may have to borrow my TACCO's glasses. (That's for you pilotyip.)
