LOLOLOL!
Sorry mate, but this is not the place to look for an upgrade. The PIC time you have in your logbook when you get here will probably be the PIC time you have in your logbook when you leave.
You will probably average about 500-600 hours per year, most F/O's are leaving before year three, some in as little as 2-6 months.
There is no growth here, just attrition.
The latest MD-11 Captain class consists of FO's from years 1999 and 2000.
There's about 60-70 pilots behind them waiting their turn. If we bought ten airplanes, the junior guys might have a chance. Right now the company is parking airplanes with no announced purchases on the horizon. I hate to paint it so bleak, but it is what it is.
If you come here, you will get some great international widebody experience and fly with some of the best crews in the industry (that's why UPS likes us so much).

Hey Waldo,

I see that you have not lost your humor. keep on tracking. Hope to see you on the line here in the next few weeks.

He Flypix!
You made it! Congratulations I think! I'll look forward to buying you a beer (unles we're in the sandbox).
You'll have to let me know who you are, though! Enjoy the ride!
Waldo

Gac

And besides, considering your new employer will most likely be UPS, I don't think it'll present much of a problem in the near term.

I was there on the -11 from 09/05-10/06. What with Initial, IOE, and recurrent I probably flew the line about 6 months.

Gemini will be running new hire MD11 classes from Jan 08 through November 08. There will also be the odd DC10 class.

I think a couple of 2001 guys will upgrade on the 11 in January. Rumors about a 97 guy and another 2001 guy on the 10. We lost a Captain to Emirates and another to Flight Safety, so there has been some slow movement.

Hey guys and gals! We better start posting on this thread. If not, we'll soon
be on page three, and all this information will become "dated".
So let's all get out and post something and work our way back to the first page where we can be current info again.
Let's see.... Oh yes! Gemini is hiring new pilots. Experience is nice but not required. Ability to live on 35K per year a must.
MD-11 type rating included, but must be able to answer new employer's question about why you left Gemini after six months.

Just to get you back on page one (just kidding), which cities do you guys fly with the 11s? Flightinfo.com says: "Currently flying MD11s for Saudia, Cargo Italia, and South African". Want to know if you fly enough to Italy to get some real "linguini ai frutti di mare" with my cousins in Genova.

Cheers.

Absolutely. We just about keep the "Horse's Ass" near Malpensa in business. Milan's not too for from Genoa, I think....

Nop, Milan is only a couple of hours from Genova by train, and also a couple of hours from anywhere in northern Italy. Would be nice to visit the family again. I have not been there since 2000.

Are you guys still flying to Campinas? I was there in June, flying from EZE. Great place, good food, and what to say about the girls? Gorgeous...
