Hello I heard a rumor that Gemini is looking to purchase some 777's. Any truth to this? Thanks.

LMAO!
Yeah, they're waiting for the price to drop to about 45M, which should be around 2050 or so.

That would be a cool thought. But for the amount of coin involved in getting 1 T7 they could possibly what... double the current number of 3 holers they have flying right now? ;)

Sam W has been LOOKING at 777s/747-8s/MD11s/Space shuttles for some time now.

He's still trying to figure out why people are leaving for UPS.....

Replace "Gemini" with "Cargo 360" and there is some truth to the rumor.
The 777 rumor at Gemini is at least 3 years old and counting. I think Fedora hit the nail on the head here.

never.

Gemini has been "looking" for another type for a long time. Their looking is the same as a a poor guy at a strip club, they have no $$$. All they will ever have is what they have now!!! 4 MD11s and 7-8 DC10 and maybe if they're lucky however number of scrap 10s they can scrape up from the desert. They circulate those rumors around to get pilots to stay. FDX/UPS will never buy them and they will never grow because they are an ACMI niche player in a very very small and specialized market. Go there to get heavy int'l time but don't expect to upgrade in less than 7 years. Great bunch of guys there but the company itself stinks and it's a dead end job. All the captains there are making about $100K so they won't leave, there is massive movement at the FO level. GET OUT NOW!

no certified cargo conversion for the triple 7 as far as I know. that would cost lots of cash to get going. so the only other option would be to buy new triple 7Fs
