Anybody ever know what happened to a company on the west coast called Galaxy Aviation that was doing a turboprop conversion on a P-Baron? It was in the the mid-90's...I think they may have converted one.

I've seen the turboprop Duke at OSH the last couple of years. It did some pretty impressive fly-bys. This Galaxy operation was going to an Aerostar conversion too, but I don't think it ever I happened. I do think they had the P-Baron flying at one point.

There is an old derelict Baron with empty turboprop engine nacelles on the ramp at CRQ. If this is what you're talking about, my guess is that it wasn't a commercial success. Mods like that seldom are.

I think I saw a P-baron fly over my house this morning when I got up at 11am. It looked slow, sounded funny, and smoke was trailing out the left motor.
