I was just told that I am going to be going to G450 school in the next month or two. Does anyone have any study guide or System Question sheets that they would be willing to send to me. Also is a 450 initial at FSI have a long waiting list to get into class? If you have any info on the airplane please PM and I will give you my email. Thanks in advance

Just give them a call

Give FSI a call in Savannah, ask to speak with the 450 scheduler, can't remember her name, Jennifer I think, anyway, she is awesome and will answer any question you have about the schedule. Don't worry about pre-study, they'll give you everything you need. The instructors are very good and will give you an ops limit page every day to learn for the next day. There is more than enough time to study during the 4 weeks you'll be there. I recommend staying downtown if you have a car, the airport hotels are nice, but hardly anything around for food/entertainment. Lots to do/eat/drink in SAV, all within walking distance (except Uncle Harry's--best to drive there). You will love the jet, except the brakes until they've been through the mod. Have Fun!

Congrats! It's a really great airplane, except for the G550, maybe the best. It's a GIV with the PlainView cockpit, more cockpit room than a GIV, new TROV, greatly improved reversers, greatly improved electrical system and a sexy look.

If all you can find a GIV manual, read it. Just don't read the electrical, hydraulic or avionics portions.

And that leaves the record of revisions page, I believe... :p TC

P.S.--Great airplane. I like the control feel of the IV/450 better than the 550. I've never been a "fingertip" kind of guy. ;)

Magic, best of luck with school. FSI should provide you with everything you need. If there are any NJI guys in your class, a few well placed beers might get you a copy of the notes compiled by one of our senior guys that covers every system in the airplane with a cockpit operation perspective.

For what it's worth, I think it flies better than the V or the 550. Then again, I think a IISP flies better than any of them.

The most important thing to remember about the 450:

It's a COMPUTER. Turn on the batteries, leave them on, and then go do your exterior pre-flight. By the time you get back, it might be ready for you to start the APU. Push every button slooowwwwlllyyy....and HOLD them for at least a two-potato. And when it starts doing goofy things during pre-flight (and it will), shut it down and start over again. And last, pray you don't have to do the database updates!
