I have been reading the many posts about Northwest and their new airline Compass, and was wondering if any had any opinions on the future of Pinnacle?

There's no future for Pinnacle. It's manned by a pilot group that would be working in a fast-food joint if it wasn't for PFT and low mins.

PFT has been done with at Pinnacle since early 2001 or sooner. At the time if you Had less that 1200tt you had to pay your training cost that was reimbureded to you over a two year period every month this is the way I understood it. Approximately 85 percent of pilot that are at Pinncale today have not paid for their training. Senority 0-200 I know did have to pay and that when most airlines you had to pay.

I don't fall in any of those groups. I was paid during training and given hotel as a street captain in 01 or I told them I would not take the job if I did not get both.

As far as low timers go. They don't pay Pinnacle, They pay their flight school earn their ratings. Pinnacle has an agreement with certain flight schools when they complete their training program that Pinnacle will offer them an interview, not a guarantee position.

I heard they were going to subcontract with UPS to be a feeder airline.

Pinnacle's a dog sh*t airline under dog sh*t management. I worked for them for a year and they fired my ass because I failed to write up a captain who threatened to slit my throat. After I refused a trip with him due to an obvious safety of flight issue, they asked for my resignation. All the other pilots there are f'ing awesome though, ... but as far as management is concerned ... f**k em'

holy smokes!!!! Didn't the union come to bat for you?

Word on the street is that they have been firing people like its a bodily function. Hopefully Red Tail land will right itself when all of this Bankruptcy crap is behind us.

Hey man where did u end up...whats Fed is how close you were to probabtion being over?

to the captain who threaten to slit your throat because you put your foot next to the yoke.
I would simply have told him to just try and see, you shouldnt be intimidate by those kind of asshole. I cant wait to fly with that captain, then i ll do the same thing as you did, and when he threatens me, i ll just take is head and slam it on the yoke and ask him to repeat.

You guys obviously all know the capt in question - is he one of those psychotic looking imports, or just an angry guy?

Aren't you something! You talk so big hiding behind a keyboard!

I don't know why people get all "wow" eyed when they see a Captain or fly with one. This is a person we're talking about right? And with that said, is subject to all the violent/negative forces of nature including another person. Captains really need to think of themselves as being good managers, not frackin' GOD. And if they get out of line, slice them up ninja style! :)

And as for Pinnacle...well...ehem...good luck.

Pinnacle is zipping right along into the abyss at .75 Mach and FL310 just like the rest of the regionals....with the exception of low cost Mesa. Pretty soon they'll undercut everyone in the biz and all regoinals will be mesa. Wont that be cool!!!! HA!

No, they won't be Mesa, because mesa is soon to be an indusrty leading contract.

And you don't think the ERAU Capt program or GIA is PFT?

I know every single street CA hired during that time and just about all of them were against PFT, so I'd be curious to know who you are.

Inco-fu*king-rrect. They have all their ratings BEFORE they get to GIA or ERAU's Capt program. They pay for their training in a turboprop or MD90 or whatever to get hired at a regional.

Pinnacle has an agreement with certain flight schools when they complete their training program that Pinnacle will offer them an interview, not a guarantee position.
So they don't pay for a job, they pay for an interview...?

Still pathetic.

Pinnacle will be around for a while, but don't be surprised to see the airline shrink dramatically. The company is losing 40-50 pilots a month and not hiring to replace them; that should tell you something.

Actually, I went to CAPT and didn't pay any regional airline a penny. I paid a sh!t load to CAPT to sit on my a$$ without a job, however. People go into CAPT with 0 hours (until recently they allowed people with some training to go in - CAPT needed the money). But not that any of this matters since ERAU dropped CAPT like a cheap date who doesn't put out.

As for Pinnacle, I didn't know that they were losing pilots and not replacing. Where are you getting this information from?

Ninja,

Pinnacle IS losing alot of guys! Mostly FO's, from what I hear - what does that tell ya???? I'll answer: They ABUSE their employees!!
Now, XJ is going to make 9E's pay/work rules look luxurious!! Lear70 has been there a long time, I think he knows what he is talking about.
As for the fact that you paid for and attended ERAU's CAPT program, you should be disqualified from flying, per the mental health section of your medical!!!
