As Chautauqua has announced it will be furloughing pilots it continues to call pilots to do overtime. Since there is no junior manning it is every pilots right to do this extra flying or not.

Now who and why would any pilot accept overtime when 62 other pilots have been sent packing? Not only are they calling for overtime while those pilots are still employed, but next month the flying increases just as they get the walking papers.

Since the union is forbidden by law to mandate no overtime, what is the best way to punish pilots who still choose to help out the company with overtime duties?

Currently the mass majority of pilots are not doing overtime but there still remains a few who are.

Whenever you see that you are going to be paired with those pilots, call in sick. Take the $10 medical co-pay and see your Dr. about a cold. Over time, when no one will fly with these guys, the company will have to let them go. I am sure it won't go that far, they will catch on quickly and stop picking up open time. We had a 727 Capt at Delta that everyone hated. Every pilot and Flt Engineer used this tactic and this jerk was out the door in no time. Or you could order a dozen pizzas to be delievered to their house every night.
