Congrats to the 13 coming back today! I hope we haven't screwed the place up too bad while you were gone. Now lets get the other 94 back. It's still going to be long summer.
 
It SHOULD be 76 back according to crew plannings own numbers.

Funny you should say that CP said that 76 should be recalled, when they are the ones to support and justify the furlough in the first place. I would be careful as to what "rumors" come from that place......
 
The managers in crew planning may be responsible for the numbers, but the ones who have to deal with the consequences of those decisions want more back.

This summer is going to be fun, and painful, to watch. Let the mayhem begin!

I'll clarify what I meant. Using CP's own methodology, there should have been 76 recalls. Clear as mud? 2000 more block hours this summer over summer '09. That before 46 furloughs in October.

That's why they moved everyone's recurrent out of summer and reduced the available amount of vacation during the summer as well. Supposedly, that is where the additional pilots will come from this summer compared to last. (Personally, I agree, they are going to be really short this summer.) On that note, I spoke with someone from flight ops this week and what was interesting is that there won't be as significant of a draw down of block hours in the fall as we have seen in previous years with the new HI flying. Couple that with the recurrent training that is being "pushed" forward out of summer and the SEA ETOPS training, which is expected to take 9 months, and I think you can draw your own conclusions on the future staffing situation.
 
We are staffed adequately alright! Try putting in a trip trade and screw scheduling will deny every request (except for same day trades) due to "lack of adequate reserve coverage". But then again, what's new?

And half the trips in SEA FO open time on 5/2 were covered by VSAers.
 
had a talk with one of the puzzle palace leaders a week ago....apparently the max-fly/premium trip program and the close to zero retirement rate is a smashing success and that is why there are no plans for further recall....you would never know it from the ten or so AS guys that post here and the couple dozen on the alpa board....but the 87% ers love cash and they are consuming flying at quadruple the rate that VSA used to....he also said that the changes to the reserve system has added the equivalant of 5-8%.....and last but not least...They are working dilligently to build pairings that minimize conflicts so that they can build higher time lines and pilots can more easily build their lines up or accept premium pay flying....all of this will make them more profitable and more stable which is good but he felt that it may add a couple of years to the full recall...that will sting a little if you were counting on AS for employment but at least when you do go back, it should be for good....

Absolutely correct on this one. I have tried trading multiple trips but are all getting denied. FU** this SH** !!!:uzi:
 
There are 2,054.73 more credit hours in June than there are in May. With 13 more pilots (supposedly). Ohhhh man:laugh:
 
My .02. I worked in FLT OPS a while ago and everyone is walking around on pins and needles. (Except TK, Ben, ect.....) They are making the place too LEAN. Everyone is nervious. Corperate is out of control with the BS. One of the interns that I was talking with said that the person in chagne of the LEAN BS came into hew hire class. He spoke about how great this is going. Best of all they gave him his personal card and wanted the interns to let him know what else fat they can trim. Now that is dirty.
Now, I am all for sticking it to mgmt and AAG unity but isn't saying your coming to class then not showing up, screwing over others that could fill the class and want to return to work?

Typical BS. Buddy was in the jump and the captain was mgmt on a premium trip and the FO was doing the same. Fo tried to justify it by saying that was the only way he could pay his mortgage. The mgmt guy was tell my buddy how everyone should fly 100 hrs so the airline could be successful. Same crap is going on at QX. I'm going on 16 months on the street and not even close to recall. This is not working together. This is us taking it without any KY.

WTF, his 3rd mortgage on his vacation home? Here's to why the TA passed by 84+%.
 
With all the money they are saving by having guys out on the street they are buying up IPADS like crazy. No wonder there is a shortage!!
