We are looking into the numerous discount fuel cards available. In the past we have had Avfuel, Multiservice cards, but havent used either in the past few years due to owning our own fuel farm. This is going to change next year with a new airplane coming and we will be buying much more fuel on the road. Looking for some insight as to who is the best as far as if you were to carry only one. I do remember that one of the companys provided a book of the discounted fuel cost but dont know if this is still done. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
George

I just asked a very similar question myself so you might want to do a simple search and find that thread.

Also get the August 08 edition of Business and Commercial Aviation Magazine....they have a several page article about this very thing.

I don't think there's a single "best" if you're only going to carry one fuel card. Depending on which airports you frequent, the answer will vary. The vast majority of the time when using contract fuel, I find Colt to provide the best deal. However, there are times where Avfuel, UVAir, etc. are 20 to 30 cents per gallon cheaper than Colt.

CAA is the best discount but is only accepted about 150 places maybe.

Colt/UVair are most widely used but the discount is only usually 20-40 cents a gallon (and sometimes even higher than out the door price ive noticed!)

Multiservice / AvCard are most commonly accepted but dont get very good discounts... You can use multiservice at 90 percent of biz jet destinations.

AirNav.com's fuel card is cheap as dirt and it has already paid for itself for us on 2 uses!

I am noticing that AirBP is becoming more and more commonly accepted!!!

As previously stated there is no best one. We carry Colt, World, Avfuel, UVair. Multiservice is not a discount program but can be used for just about anything aviation wise and is widely accepted. Once you get signed up for some programs, then you call and see which one is giving the best deal at the time and place. It can and does change. All the best.

You should definitely join CAA and patronize the CAA preferred FBO's. This card will pay for itself after one fueling at many locations.

We use most of the major fuel cards. The ones that I would consider essential (in no particular order) are Avfuel, Colt and UVAir. Depending upon your frequent destinations, you may also find Mariah useful.

Again, if you are a part 91 operator you NEED to be a CAA member.

Thanks for all the input. Dont think I've ever heard of the CAA as pertaining to a fuel card/discount deal.
Thanks again.
