From what research I have done on the company and personal preferences (family, quality of life and outdoor interests), I think Frontier is the place for me.

How many people out there have completed the online job application process? Specifically, I took several hours to do this recently and completed the online application, but it seems as if they may only be accepting resumes with a recommendation from an employee. I have talked with Frontier pilots about the job before, but did not get specific contact information to be able to use a reference. Is the reference crucial to getting the interview?

Thanks for any info. someone may have on this!

Rick

Pasted from thread titled Frontier Commuting on this board.

Frontierfan -

Don't listen to "disgusted".... I applied several weeks ago online...with absolutely NO references from F9. I interviewed with several others in the same boat (online app with no internal LORs) and am here at F9 now. So go ahead and apply! Oh, we also have about 50% commuters in our class...several from the east coast and a few from the west coast. The word we got was that there were only about 600 apps on file in the computer system. I have no idea where the 10000 number came from. Good luck with the application/interview process!

Your efforts may not have been wasted. Good Luck.

US Flyer,

I filled out the online app, got a call 3 weeks later. I knew absolutely no one at frontier. Interviewed with 5 folks, 3 knew current employees and myself and another knew no one. Got hired and so did he. Listen to no one, fill out the app and wait for the call. Don't know what the secret is, but if you go through the 30 minutes of app pain you'll probably get a call. Hang in there!

Frontier is one of a very few companies that does things the old fashioned way....with fairness and integrity, and without favoritism to special interest agendas. Thank God!

Well from what I have heard from a good source at F9 is that since they have been so overwhelmed with resumes they have been focusing applications with referrals from current employees. I too have finished the online application which was not too bad and got 2 LOR's from 2 Captains.

Nothing yet but it's only been about a week. Feels like 1 year!

Hope this helps and Good luck!

Good Morning,

My theory:

I thought there where 10000 "hard paper" resumes on file (Union source). A person (recently hired)on this board informed us there where only 600 online apps. So maybe they are trying to be fair and use both sources, even though they discontinued the paper way. I doubt it though!

F9 is a small and growing airline. There are only a couple people in charge of calling for interviews. My bet is that they are overwhelmed.

**I heard that they are not putting anyone in classes til September. (Of course this could change). The reason is: They are transitioning the 737 pilots to the Airbus. This is taking a toll on training as far as capacity and manpower.

Hang in there and make yourselves standout somehow from the crowd. Do it diplomatically and without overburdening the already overworked HR crowd.

I guess it helps to have a rec, but again people are getting interviewed and hired with out one. IMHO, I also think a local Denver address helps, but maybe not.

Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK.

ADIOS!

I went to the website and looks like i have to fill an online application with AIRLINE APPS.COM and it's not free.

Am i doing something wrong here?

Many thanks for your help.

Air Apps, Inc. is free if you want to apply to a specific airline, such as Frontier. So, if you are using it to apply to Frontier only, there is no charge...however, if want to place a file with them to be used for all airlines using their service, then there is a fee.

You can actually apply to more than one airline for free, but you would have to create a sepatate account and do a separate app each time. Otherwise, to create an account and file to be used with any and all airlines, there are various levels of memberships...yearly, lifetime, etc. It would help to just read through their site, and you should be able to figure it all out.

Hope this helps.
