Hey Frontier Pilots...

Is management talking at all about their plans to expand further into United's markets out of Denver as this thing unfolds over the next year?

If so, any news on hiring, changes in 737 retirement, accelerated Airbus deliveries, etc.???

Just curious. Haven't heard anything new from Frontier lately, and I would figure the recent developments would make it more possible than ever for Fontier to become the primary carrier out of Denver.

Whatta ya think?

I know the company is always cautious with expansion, but sometimes you have to be ready to jump on an opportunity (like this may be) before it's gone.

...........I believe Continental may try if Frontier doesn't.

Class G, are you being serious? are you just a natural whiner? "I left Lakes for this?" If that is your attitude, you'd probably complain if you were hung with a new rope. I'd trade places with you, you can have my 1900 seat and I'll go to FRNT. ha ha. I think being a little conservative in this market is a wise idea. I also think those expansions into Mexico are a gold mine.
good luck

whining??

If you look into it, I think in sayin "I left great lakes for this" he is refering to Vanguard. I am not sure but I think he probably would rather fly for GLA than be furloughed. Just my guess, maybe he does fly for Frontier, but I did't see were he said he worked for them. If that is the case, he should consider himself lucky. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Not much information from the front office on the plans to take advantage of Uniteds misfortunes. Post 9/11, all airlines are in a cash saving mode and banks are not lending money to airlines as they once did pre 9/11. I seriously doubt that any airline will be able to ramp up to "take advantage" of UAL situation in DIA or ORD, SFO or any other UAL strong hold.

Our Airbus delieveries are on schedule and will be coming in at about one a month through the year. The 737-200s are being returned as fast as they can (but no one wants them back). The 737-300 fleet is scheduled to start being returned starting this Jan.

The biggest consern now is what will UAL do under Chapter 11. Will they get mean and try to put F9 out of DIA, or (as they should IMO) raise fares a little to keep their cash flow up. UAL is now a "cash on the barrel head" only business so they will have to keep the cash coming in if they are to survive. IMO if UAL slashes ticket prices to try to lure more passengers on to their planes then it might get ugly for F9 and everybody esle. UAL has a brake even load factor in the 90's now, if they slah prices any further they would have a brake even load factor above 100%. To get above 100% they would have to have people sitting on others laps. "Would like like a window seat? Top or bottom?

The lastest word on hiring from the World HQ is that F9 will hire 6 in Jan 03 and 4 every month through out the year.

Have a Safe and Happy Holiday season.
