Is it possible to go from a traditional guard flight position to active duty? Either active Guard or AF...

Thanks.

From traditional Guard to Active Guard (AGR) is a no-brainer - assuming there is an AGR slot open. To go AD Air Force I believe is also possible, but might take more paperwork. I don't have all the details, but I know quite a few AFRES guys going back on AD and I know the slots have filled up quickly - with all the airline furloughs and all.

When I flew Eagles in Germany there was a guy from the 22FS (an F16 squadron at Spangdahlem) that had been ANG and came on active duty...so yes...it can be done. I have no idea in the post 9/11 world, however, of the procedure or the paperwork required. AFMPC likely has the gouge, and if you are already rated in a MWS I can't see why they wouldn't love to have you.
