Yet another interesting flight department profile in Pro Pilot.

Nevermind sleeping in a learjet together with the boss on RON's...no, these guys bake cookies before a flight! And yes, once again: starting salaries are above average.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Chips Ahoy anyone

Doesn't it kind of lose its effect if you bake them before flight?

Now B-B-Q, that needs prep before flight, unless you're in a GV and you have 12 hours to cook..............

I just finished reading that article - the cookies aren't even for them to take on the airplane - they bake them for the pax to enjoy in the lobby before the flight!!

I guess it's not that big of a deal but I've got more pressing things to do before every flight than to throw some cookies in the oven.

So they turn on the oven, drop 12 pre-made frozen cookie dough scoops onto the baking pan, shove it into the oven, come back in 12 minutes, take the cookie pan out of the oven, come back in 5 minutes, enjoy a cookie, and place the remaining cookies on a tray to serve.

Tough life.

Geeze, you'd think the company was requiring the pilots to preflight the airplane, too. Or, like some local outfits, they require the pilot(s) to maintain the planes. They don't even hire the guy unless he can work on both the pistons AND the turboprop.

Proof that if someone has a job they can find a way to complain about it.

Speaking of BBQ...Falcon Capt - you need to come up with an STC for the installation of a Smoker in the 900EX. Maybe you can use the area in the tail where the batteries and data recorders are. On one of those 9 hour trans-Atlantic flights, the meat would be just right by the time you land! :D

I don't know that much about Falcons (OK so I don't know ANYTHING about Falcons) but if you're worried about the smoke and the smell in the cabin could you maybe tap a small line off of the ram air supply that goes to your heat exchangers then run that line thru the smoker and run an exhaust line back thru the APU exhaust line? Don't make the supply line too big - don't want too much cold air in there!

Yeah yeah you'd have to cut a hole thru the aft pressure bulkhead but it's a small price to pay for some good BBQ over the North Atlantic.

If you want it. . . you could have it. . .

I have the right combo of FSDO, IA, and DER that can get the BBQ mod installed and approved. The FAA guys will need a test flight to ensure everything is operational.

MMMMmmmmm. Land at Harris Ranch, pick up some real beef, blow some dude's car off the overpass during takeoff, over the powerlines thank you very much, and dinner's ready before half tanks.

One limitation would be the smoker has to be off during takeoff. ATC might get a bit excited if they saw pure black smoke out of the APU.

Wonder if Air Force One has the STC?

BBQ at 30W....

I'm thinking that grilling vs. position reporting sounds pretty good, I'm getting tired of listening to all that BS on 123.45 anyway..I'm all for "Falcon Capt" getting the STC for that bad boy!!! WooHooo...BBQ=Yummy!!

Kansas City International

Do you think shooting this approach would make you hungry?

Fixes on the ILS 1R at KMCI: SPICY BARBQ and RIBBS. Now tell me that MCI doesn't have BBQ on their mind?
