Ex-Airline Workers Accused of Stealing Plane Tickets
September 26, 2003, 9:54 AM EDT
Three former airline employees have been accused of issuing more than $15,000 in free plane tickets to themselves and family and friends, prosecutors said.
Former American Airlines workers Cindy Foster, 27, and Stacia Davis, 28, were arrested Thursday on grand larceny and other charges, and Andrea Sybblis, 34, was being sought in the scheme, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said the three ticket agents issued 26 plane tickets to places including San Antonio, Jamaica, Barbados between October and May.
"The defendants apparently believed they could conceal their wrongdoing by making false entries in the airline's computer system," Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement.
Foster, who resigned, and Davis and Sybblis, who were fired, could face up to four years in jail if convicted.
