Who flies freight in Hawaii? Last time I was there I saw several 737s from a distance and it looked like that they had a name with "cargo" in it. Anything inter island and international?

Aloha flies interisland with the 737's, Kalitta Air flies stuff to/from LA. There are also some 135 outfits flying interisland freight with Shorts, Twin Beech's and a DC-3.

FedEx flies in and out every day LA and MEM and I think we fly HNL - SMF. We also go to SYD from HNL. We also fly to Hilo but I'm not sure if that's every day or not.

I was in Kauai in early December and just fell in love with the idea of living there...if only I could get a good freight or pax job in Hawaii. I'm sure nobody else has had that idea...There was an air ambulance gig in Maui, but the pay was kinda low for the cost of living there...well, maybe enough to live, but not much else. I am intrigued by the Pacific and South Pacific area-would like to fly long haul freight. Any ideas anyone?

Aloha does the bulk of interisland freight. They fly 4 B737 every night but Saturday. They are also hiring 4 or 5 more classes in the next couple months.

Who hasn't? At least until you realize how much it costs to actually live there.

There's an outfit flying King Air's (Air Med I think) doing air ambulance out of HNL, also Corporate Air, Alpine air, and Interisland Airways-also knon as Trans Air flying turboprops from Honolulu.

Thanks for the info. I think about it often enough as I am flying around in frigid Oregon. Oh how sweet it would be!

Stay away from alpine air. Bottom feeder, crap maintenance, many accidents past 5 years. Overall crappy operation.
