I am curious what a normal rate for a freelance instructor in the central florida area is? I am a ATP CFI-I MEI. (2400 TT and 750 dual given) I have a couple people asking me to do instruction, a instrument, private and a couple BFRs. I was thinking no less then $40 a hour. Any ideas?

Most I've talked to have rates of $40.00 to $42.00 Per Hr...This is for the Tampa, St. Pete/Clearwater and Sarasota areas.....

No less than $40...

I have pretty much the same total time/dual given as you do, and I doubt I would start lower than about $60/hr. But I do live in a different part of the country.

If it puts it in perspective, the college where instructed before I went off to a regional was charging the students somewhere in the neighborhood of $120/hr for my services. And people still paid it!! But then again, that was New England.
