Right now, it looks like the Freedom guys who are junior (some are super senior) will be displaced to . . . the CRJ 200 in PHL.

Currently, they are immune from any movement, b/c the Freedom certificate is the only one that can have the 700's and 900's on it, and they haven't gone through training for the 200 on the Mesa certificate. Once all the aircraft are on the Mesa certificate (Mesa manamgent will likely take their sweet time doing this), the Freedom guys will be JA'd to PHL. Once on the CRJ, due to the new contract language, you can't move to a lower paying postion or from FO on a jet to anywhere but CA on a jet. Therefore, they will never fly the 1900.

-Boo!

Is Piedmont flying former Mailine routes

fit the definition of the race to the bottom? I just like to remind everyone that places like DCA, BOS, IND GSO, DAY, TPA, were HUGE 737/DC-9/ F28/100 etc bases. ROA hade nearly 100 737 flights a DAY in the late eighties. I don't think I have ever seen a Wholly-owned guy lament the fact that THEY have replaced more mainline flights than the contract carriers. Memories are short if you are young....BTW Freedumb pilots are dIvided up between the Original Scum and the Freedom "B" pilots. Make your treatment decisions carefully. One group enabled the alter ego method of ratcheting down wages. Remember the Freedumb originals are the root cause of soooo much evil today...
