I understand that Mesa pilots just agreed to a new contract with Mr. Orenstein that allows them to fly the CRJ-700s and 900s.

So, what will happen to the many Freedom pilots (some people call them SCABS) who came to Freedom thinking they would immediately fly left or right seat in the CRJ-700/900? Many USAirways and other mainline furloughees joined Freedom. What will happen to them now - will they continue to fly CRJs (from the right-hand seat) or will they drop down into the ERJs on the East Coast or into the Dash 8s out of PHX due to lack of seniority?

How will early Freedom pilots be integrated? Also, how do the Mesa pilots like flying the CRJ-700/900 now?

Just curious. Good luck to all involved!

Thanks

Man alive! How would it feel being one of those Freedumb Capt's on the nice CRJ70 flying the Civet profile into LAX---and the next thing you know you are an FO on the 1900 hand flying an approach into an Iraqi like sandstorm with 110 degree heat at Lake Havasu, AZ? It might just make you ask yourself, " Why did I choose to jump over people with higher senority to fly a bigger plane for less $$$??" Good question. Atleast you still have a job. Maybe the dry chips and salsa at the Lake Havasu airport terminal are good with a piping hot cup of java---with 110 degree heat. Enjoy!

Bye Bye---General Lee:cool: :p ;) :( :p

Nothing has passed yet.

Voting on the TA is ongoing. If the contract passes, then the Freedom pilots are going to be integrated back into the pilot list. The contract has economic incentives for them to be displaced back into whatever equipment that their seniority will hold, whether its left seat on the CRJ or right seat on a Beech.

they will be bumped out of the seat but not the equipment. IE the "street captains" for the -700 will be permanent FO's on the -700.

That is BS that the 1900 pilots willl be in the same equipment until they can hold jet capt while all the freedum scum bags will stay in a nice new 700 making more than the 1900 pilot!

True, but remember they will be at the bottom of the list and will be on reserve for a very very, very long time. I'd take senior Beech Capt holding a good line any day over years on reserve on the 700. -Bean

Man that would be rough!

Are there any Freedom guys on this forum? Sure would be nice to hear his perspective on this!

Are you kidding? They would be verbally murdered. :D

Very True, any idea how many pilots they have total? Would any airline hire a guy from Freedom, if so which ones?
Thats just a side question.
