stall022 said:Mesa/Freedom is not CASS yet.. both the company and MEC had been saying we had it but Airinc is still in the testing process so now we have been told a 2 week wait for that to finish up. Freedom takes unlimited jumpseaters in the back and if you are a delta/delta connection pilot you may occupy the cockpit jumpseat anytime even without CASS.

Boy has this been a headache for everyone! I tasked your JS Committee Chairman, CD with finding out where we are really at with CASS. Here is his report:
There's been a ton of email traffic and information about CASS coming to your MEC, most of it very confusing and contradictory, so we thought it best to clarify what we believe is happening.
Here's the situation, to catch you up, at each carrier:
YV- ops specs signed off by FAA on June 9, 2006, awaiting Air Inc to activate the database
F8 - ops specs not yet signed off by FAA
ZV- ops specs not yet signed off by FAA
After Air Inc activates the database, the carrier is CASS active and able to reciprocate CASS jumpseats with all other CASS carriers.
Your Jumpseat Committee and MEC is in touch with the FAA POI's for each carrier, the Mesa IT department, the chief pilot's office for each certificate and Air Inc in an effort to get CASS on property ASAP with the full support of Mesa Air Group senior management.
Estimated time till arrival . . .1-2 weeks for Mesa Airlines, perhaps longer for Air Midwest and Freedom Airlines. We will continue to keep you up to date as we receive information and we thank everyone for their feedback and professionalism during this period. If you have any questions or concerns please contact CD, MAG Jumpseat Committee Chairman, at your convenience.

for now don't count on using CASS... I have heard stories of mesa people using CASS in the last few weeks aswell. I'm not sure if they have actually used CASS or just run into gate agents that don't know how to use the CASS system and just believe the pilot when they say they are CASS, Or we fly for so many code shares alot of us are listed as ZV,YV, and F8 in the computer system therefor we are able to occupy the jumpseat on united, us airways, america west, and delta eventho we are only truly able to occupy the jumpseat of the mainline carrier that we are currently flying for...
