"Free Flight Instruction in OHIO, New CFI, CFII, MEI, you provide the plane and lunch. - Adam"

Wow... Free training in Ohio, is this what flying is turning into? How good can the training be if its free? And we wonder why the industry is in the crapper and nobody can make money, FYI if you want to fly with this guy go to AOPA.org in the classifieds and call him:rolleyes:

Sadly enough, it's the only way you can get flight time these days... Yes, I agree, it really d!cks the rest of us, but at the same time I can't blame the guy too much.

Ohio is probably one of the worst markets to secure a flight job in.. It is not a very friendly place for "low timers" to be starting out in. I do disagree completely with the "free instruction" for "flight time" issue though, very unprofessional and allows the bar to be brought down once again. You also will not make any contacts or friends in the business who need to put food on the table and I can tell you that the aviation community is rather small in that neck of the woods and the word spreads quickly....

I would dare bet that he doesn't get as much business as you might think. In any case, I live in Ohio and I hope for his sake I don't ever see one of his little flyers up anywhere near where I work.

As for starting out in Ohio...this is where I started out (not by choice, it was the only place I could find a job at the time). Instructed full-time for most of '03, built a few contacts, and now have three different flying jobs- only one of which is instructing. So if you play your cards right, its not *that* bad.
