Can the various FAA texts that are required knowledge for practical exams be obtained through a local FSDO? Or, must they be purchased from a company like ASA? The FAA provides electronic copies free of charge, but they must charge for bounded hardcopies, right?

Most FSDO'S I've been to DO NOT carry these publications.
I would get them online, shipping is cheap if not free.
