is there any kind of computer program out there that helps pilots learn FMS or glass cockpit? low price is important as well.

In the past, I have either contacted the manufacturer or received materials from Flightsafety/Simuflite - though those materials come from the manufaturere as well.

What FMS are you looking at?

I believe it is the Honeywell Primus Epic? Its in the emb170. i just wanted to get a head start, although I will be at flight safety in a few weeks.

Looking at the cockpit, it indeed looks like a Honeywell Primus Epic integrated avionics setup. From Honeywell's site: (no idea if that link will keep working)

Honeywell said:
PC-Primus Epic ™
Primus Epic training is now available on a laptop.
PC-Primus Epic features the same software used
on the aircraft, running on a PC.

...

Available for the following Honeywell Primus Epic aircraft programs:
  • Cessna Sovereign
  • Embraer 170
  • Embraer 190
...

Hope that helps. I have their PC-FMS software, simulating the FMZ-2000 that I use. It was provided by FlightSafety as part of the training package we purchased. You might want to check into what you'll be provided before you spend a bunch of money on the software.

If you want to download an add on for microsoft flight sim go to PMDG's website. They have the most realistic sim add ons on the market, The FMC's work EXACTLY like the one's in the real plane, and you can actually download the current cycle nav database SID's DP's etc. Also comes with .pdf's with operation manual. Good Luck!!

Yea I was going to recomend downloading the microsoft products. The FMCs are designed with the help of real pilots of the respective aircraft and they are highly accurate if not 100% accurate. It took me a good day or 2 to become familiar with the FMC of the CRJ. You don't have to pay for them just go to torrentportal.com and download the aircraft type.

About torrentportal, how do you search and find the needed fms's?

Screw torrentportal, its all about thepiratebay.org! Get yourself a torrent client like uTorrent and download away!
