Flying the smallest of smalls, C-172 to Dallas late Friday night from California for the Air Inc. job fair. Any helpful comments on a FBO to use? Can you bring that small of a plane to DFW, just started my search.

Thanks,

Tim

Can you fly a C-172 into DFW im sure you can but is it smart? I remember years ago seeing a C-172 at O'hare and it was blown over by taxi thrust from a DC-10. I would fly into Addison (ADS) and park at Million Air. They offer crew cars and you could then drive to the job fair.

I've flown a Duchess into DFW to pick up a friend. DAL is definitely easier, but if you have to do DFW - it's not bad at all. I used the "DFW Airport Board General Aviation Facility". I was there for about 2 hours, and didn't have to pay any landing fee. 100LL isn't cheap there, so tanker fuel if you can.

The FBO isn't anything special, but it's functional and has all the typical items you'd expect at any FBO. Weather, restrooms, transportation, etc... The line people seemed nice.

I flew there IFR, and it was a piece of cake. The controllers didn't seem at all bothered about my presence. Lots of taxiing, but as Mach92 mentioned - you gotta take care not to get close to any jet in front of you - especially if it's stopped and about to move.

Just plan accordingly, and you'll be fine.

Other than DFW, ADS and DAL will be pretty close. If you are buying fuel, stop in either F55 (south) or KGLE (north) on the way in or out. These two airports (especially GLE) have the cheapest gas.

Have fun and good luck.
