Anyone know of any 135/charter operators that allow you to fly from home. Live wherever you want and they airline you to your aircraft when you have a trip.

For example if a charter co. managed several CE500's and you were current to fly them all. You just airline to the one you'll be flying for the day/week.

Thanks.

99% of 135 charter operators dont know what they are doing the next day, nevermind next week.

Most have that evil "mist live within one hour of the airport" clause for a reason.

good luck.

I wonder if this is changing with the growth of companies like Sentient? They seem to be running a fractional using a bunch of 135 operators.

I occasionally do contract work for one of these outfits on the West Coast. I live 3 hrs from the aircraft's base. They airline me from my local airport to wherever the aircraft is. I charge them a daily rate from the time I leave my house until I get back home. Though they don't know where the plane will be each day, they know there's a good chance Sentient will have it doing trips from KHPN or KTEB for a few weeks at a time.

The only way to go if living at home is your top priority is fractionals. They are the only ones with enough airplanes spread out over the country, and enough pilots to fill the empty seats that logistically it makes sense. The frax policies on commuting run the gamut from ANYWHERE, to ANYWHERE WE TELL YOU TO. To the best of my understanding:

FLOPS (I'm sure of) = Any domestic airport served by 3 airlines with 6 outbound flights per day.

NetJets/Citation Shares = Any one of their listed domicile airports. There seem to be quite a few that they have.

Flex (I might be off here) = Live in Dallas.

Good luck though, I don't know how hiring is at other places but my company has stopped accepting resumes (even online) due to the number of resumes already on hand.

One hour callout!

Wow that is like being on vacation, real pilots live on the 20 minute call out, that is a real man's world.
