When i was there I was on flex schedule, wondered if they have done away with that crap or still have it for new hires?

Yes, everyone is now on the 8 and 7. I think management changed it because the schedule was such a mess. I doubt management did it out of the kindness of their hearts, however.

Yes, everyone is now on the 8 and 7.....

Then they're all overworked/underpaid... The industry standard is a balanced life and recognition that by day 7 crews are starting to drag. Sure pilots can do the occasional extra day, but to schedule them that way routinely is just asking for trouble. Obviously, the FLOPS don't consider their employees (at least not the Options pilots) to be their greatest asset. You get what you pay for ...and schedule. The FLOPS attitude of do more with less is counter-productive to running a safe, high-end operation. Frac owners are paying extra for rested, relaxed pilots. If they wanted stressed out, burned out flightcrews they wouldn't be spending a considerable sum for luxury air travel and all that mode of transportation is supposed to encompass.

LOW MORALE IS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE IN A HIGH END OPERATION

You'd think Scheringa would understand that this business is a SERVICE BUSINESS and how the front-line troops are treated actually can impact service delivery... Evidently not.

I'm sure he actually does know that, Six. But he apparently decided that until enough of the pilots complained about the mistreatment, he could just get away with treating them like robots and paying them chump change wages. It's been proven to be a short-sighted attitude, but lots of managers (especially arrogant ones) try to get away with using sticks first instead of offering carrots. Don't let MS get away with it! Frac pilots are professionals entirely justified in their efforts to acquire a fair contract based on their skills and contribution to the company.

Working an 8/7 schedule is already going above and beyond the industry standard. The message that you get what you pay for will sink in faster if the Options pilots stop doing favors for the FLOPS and you all say no to overtime. Good Luck! Hang in there! NJW

It was 8/7 when I was there 6 years ago, never heard about a flex schedule.

I can tell you from experience that by day 6, you are REALLY looking forward to finishing out and getting home. Day 7 you couldn't wait to get done, and day 8 was something of a relief, until the 40% of the time that scheduling wouldn't notice that it was your last day and give you a full schedule of legs.....on the west coast.

In all fairness, they always worked it out, and I always got home before 1 am.

Regards,
Chris
