I will be in Fairbanks, Alaska in june and was thinking about getting my Single-Engine Sea rating. For someone who has never flown in Alaska, would this be a bad idea? Any info would be great.

Also does anyone know anything about North Star Aero in Fairbanks?

No, that would be a great idea. Sorry I don't know anything about North Star or any other Fairbanks operator.

[FONT=Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]Comments:
Due to wide difference in skills/experience - Float rating training custom designed for individual pilot. Average time required for mid-time pilot is 6-7 hours. Due to insurance requirements, no solo available at this time. Lodging available here on the marina. Courtesy vehicle available if not previously scheduled. Float recurrency package includes 1 hour of ground instruction. Seaplane rating and remote fishing package available, including remote cabin, boat, and equipment. Call for package price.
