Flight Training Jobs???!!!!

I hope this will start as a positive tool to those out there that are looking for flight instructing positions or know of one where a flight instructor vacancy is available. I did not picture myself flight insructing again, but it's a rewarding job and it does mean you get to fly. There are plenty of instructing jobs out there that hopefully together we can help each other out. Maybe you can give a quick overview such as equipment, avg. flt hours a month, multi planes,the pay and the airport and state that the shool is located??? I know many out there that would move for an instructing job. Airnav.com is a great place to start. Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!

MAPD

In your case, you might be prime MAPD meat. According to the website, competitive quals are but 500 hour total and 100 hours of dual given. You exceed those, and I like your Convair experience.

I worked at MAPD briefly ten years ago. You will have motivated students at MAPD, and will be training them in A36 Bonanzas and B58 Barons. Somehow, I gather that the equipment is the same as ten years ago, so those airplanes may be a little tired by now.
I see where new instructors don't have to pay for Baron training. I beg to differ slightly on that point. I had no B58 Baron time when I applied to MAPD. I was hired, and was told after I arrived that I would be charged for my flight time. In other words, I was not told beforehand that I would be charged for my B58 time. Mesa charged me $700 for that time, and cheerfully offered to deduct it from my paycheck. I declined, and just paid it all at once.

There is no doubt that you will build time at MAPD. I flew 100 hours my first month there - far too much dual given for that time period, in my $0.02 opinion. It tapered off to nothing toward the end of the semester, which left me with a lot of unwanted down tiime. You were not allowed to take a vacation while school was in session.

Of course, the real deal for MAPD instructors is "the interview" with Mesa. Therefore, working at MAPD might be the best way for some people to get their feet in the door for a regional interview.

That's awesome!! For one, I'm glad someone else out there is a fan. Some of his quotes just crack me up! And two, I was trying to decide between this quote and the "huckeberry" one for my sig. Yeah....I have a lot of time on my hands. Nothing on TV and a bunch of Coronas in the fridge.

P.S. Sorry, this has nothing to do with flying planes, or college....err, well maybe the beer does...........anyway.
