Are you looking for flight instruction or work as a flight instructor?

Rick Aviation - PHF
FlightQuest - PVG
Horizon Aviation - CPK

Horizon is a Cessna Pilot Center and they have nice, new trainer aircraft. They used to have an office at ORF but closed it several years ago, so they are only at CPK now. FlightQuest is about to obtain a 141 certificate and they are super-nice people. I can't tell you much about Rick Aviation other than they do flight instruction.

Hope that helps.

If your eligible for membership, the Langley AFB Aero Club has cheap airplane rentals (172s, Arrows, Barons) and excellent instructors.

That's very true, I forgot about that. They also have an amazingly-well run 141 program.

I will check out Horizon. I could go to Langley but it would cost me more in gas to get there and back than I would save. Horizon is at the Hampton Roads regional airport right?

No, Horizon is at Chesapeake (CPK). FlightQuest is the one at Hampton Roads.

Can you give me a general area of where CPK is? I know Hampton Roads is out on 58. Not sure of the other.

CPK - ORF210/14.3

Exit 291B off 64, 104S towards Elizabeth City, stay right. Past the Food Lion at Great Bridge Blvd, continue South on Dominion Blvd. After Cedar road, I think West Road is the 2nd left. The Airport is a few miles down West Road, on the left.

I used to commute from ORF to CPK a lot, it's about a 20 minute drive. 30 minutes between 2 and 5pm.

Another option for you is Cardinals' Pilot shop. Their main office is at the Suffolk Airport but they have taken over the office at ORF, back behind the flight planning room at Piedmont. They have a few newer 172s. I believe they still have a 150 or two at SFQ too. Suffolk is another 20 minutes or so west on 58/13/32 past PVG.

PM me if you'd like more info. I've been flying in the area since early '95.
