Tomorrow at 1400 the NMB will certify the vote by the pilots of Flight Options for their desire to form a union. Many of you will be receiving emails form pilots with the results of the vote. Please forward the message you receive to all the pilots you know so that the good news reaches all of our pilots as soon as possible.

Any idea how the voting is really going? I heard any ballot not turned in was considered a no vote. Is that true? Whats the pulse on the line say?

Good luck

Good luck

All any of us have is the educated guess we have developed from talking with as many pilot as we could on the road. I feel confident that we will have a positive vote by a significant margin somewhere between 60 and 80%.

But that’s just my SWAG.

Yes, it sure is. There's no option to "abstain" or anything in the NMB voting process. The board sets up a list of eligible voters, and 50% + 1 of the people on that list have to vote "Yes" by calling in.

If it's the same setup we used at CommutAir a couple years ago (I assume it is), there isn't an option to vote "No" on the phone system. Call in to vote "yes," don't call in to vote "no." The problem is, you don't know which ones were "no" and which ones were just apathy.

Good luck, guys!

Good luck to you all, from an ex-FLOPS-er. Hopefully it's the beginning of a new and improved Flight Options!

IBT 1108 Victory Statement
Fellow Pilots,

After more than a year of tireless work, the Flight Options Organizing Committee is proud to announce the fulfillment of our goal of representation. Today shortly after 1400 the National Mediation Board verified that a majority of Flight Options LLC pilots have democratically voted for representation by the IBT Local 1108.

Today is a proud day for our pilot group. In solidarity and unity the pilots of Flight Options LLC have put the divisive merger between Raytheon Travel Air and Flight Options behind them. The pilots of Flight Options LLC have come together with one voice to vote for IBT 1108 representation and a voice in their futures. The demons of the merger have once and for all been put to rest to allow the Flight Options LLC pilots to move forward as one unified body in solidarity and brotherhood.

The Flight Options Organizing Committee would like to thank all of the pilots that made it their personal mission to help spread the word. This could not have happened with out the widespread support of groups like the P2P committee and the unknown and unrecognized heroes that spent time talking to those they shared the cockpit with. Most importantly we would like to thank each and every pilot that took the time to vote and express his or her desires for all of our futures. We spoke with one voice to take the first step in making Flight Options LLC a successful company and a great place to work. We would also like to thank the IBT 1108 leaders that have worked tirelessly on our behalf. They have been our guides and mentors during the past year to make this vote a success.

While we are filled with jubilation at the accomplishment of the Flight Options LLC pilots, we eagerly look forward to the hard work ahead that will be required to secure our first contract. As we have said countless times, WE the pilots of Flight Options will ultimately determine how strong our Union will be. We encourage each and every pilot, those that have supported representation and those that did not, to step up to the plate now and help to build an organization that will serve us all well.

During the next few months we will be preparing to vote for our first elected leadership. The FOOC is finalizing the 90-day action plan for these elections. Please stay engaged and informed, as you will be tasked with the next major event in building our Union, voting for who will manage our interest through the contract negotiations and beyond. This vote will be as important if not more important as the one you cast during the past few weeks.

The www.ibt1108.org message board that many of you have used in the process of educating yourselves and communicating with the Organizing committee and your fellow pilots will be a vital link in your future Union communications. Shortly after the vote, the board will undergo a complete overhaul and will require the re-registering of all our pilots using their real names. Please make it a priority to visit the message board and register with the most reliable information you have. It will be vital that we have your correct email address due to the scattered nature of our pilot group. We will continue to use the Internet and email as our primary means of communicating important information. We will not be using company provided wireless devices for any Union sponsored communication.

Lastly your organizing committee would like to encourage and reinforce our most important principals. During the coming months we must never cease in our dedication to safety and serving our owners in the same manner we always have.

Again, Congratulations To Us All

Your Flight Options Organizing Committee.

Subject: Election Results

Dear Fellow Team Member,

As you may already know by now, this afternoon the National Mediation Board(NMB) tallied the votes in the pilot election and announced that a majority of the eligible voting pilots cast votes for union representation. Based on the results the Teamsters union has been elected as the bargaining representative for all Flight Options pilots. We expect that the NMB will issue a certification of the election within a day or two.

You may be wondering what will happen next. We cannot tell you how long the negotiation process will take to reach a first contract. The Company will bargain in good faith as required by the Railway Labor Act, and any pilots who wish to particpate in the negotiation process must address that with their collective bargaining agent and representative, the Teamsters.

While we respect our pilots' decision in electing the Teamsters representation, the union election is now behind us, and we need to focus on the business and continue to provide a complete service experience. Together, we will continue to work toward a goal of making Flight Options the most viable fractional operator in private aviation.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to either contact me or any member of the Flight Operations leadership team.

Best regards,

Michael

I have a question for you Shawn

Whereas management late last fall had committed itself to a large payraise for pilots.

Whereas the only reason pilots have not seen this large payraise is because of alleged rules about interferring with an election for union representation.

Whereas the election is now over and no such alleged restrictions are applicable.

Where is the beef? Show me the money!

Boy am I glad FLOPS pilots have representation now. Can you even imagine what life would be like at FLOPS having to go forward trusting these guys to keep their word, IF THE VOTE HAD FAILED?

I shiver to think. That is the stuff nightmares are made of.
