I see Flight Options is hiring into more than just DEN and ATL now. They still don’t have MCO listed. Any rumors of hiring into MCO?

How does the basing work? If I am based at MCO, will I meet my plane there, or will I airline to it? How big of a base is it?

When are you assigned a base?

Thanks, over.

We have no Bases, Just tier 1 , 2 and 3 aiports.
The new hires will only be based In ATL, DEN, LAS and DAL/DFW. Even if you are assigned to this airport, plan to airline in and out 90 % of the time.

I think it is only LAS DEN and ATL for all new hires now.

You would have to move to one of those cities on your dime and that would be your base until you retire back to Florida. You have to live within an hour drive of any of those airports.

You would rarely meet your airplane there at your base. You would most of the time airline across the country to where your airplane is. The reason those cities are chosen as bases is due to cheap airlines flight out of there. ( Air Tran, Frontier, SWA etc..)

Hmm... APC has MCO as a domicile. So is it or isn't it? Maybe they are just behind on thier updatess.

True or false, if I want to live in Orlando then I can't work for Flight Options.

APC isn't giving you all of the info. They hire into specific bases and MCO is not one of them this time around. MCO is on the Tier 1 list for pilots currently working for FLOPS. The list on APC refers to what is available to those pilots that are grandfathered per the domicile policy.

BTW; I recommend that you read everything you can about FLOPS in other threads. For the most part, all the bad stuff is true.

If you want a frac job, shoot for any of the others. FLOPS is rock bottom in the frac world.

Nevermind. I just looked at all of the other threads and now it's not even an option. Thanks guys for saving me!!!

Zeppelin fans rock! You just saved yourself a lot of headaches MU2 - Happy New Year!

Your life will be so much better if you can get on with another fractional, even if it took you an entire year extra of doing whatever you are doing now, you would be miles ahead of working at Options.

Not just the other Fractionals....

Besides NetJets, FlexJet, Citation Shares, and Avantair, there are other awesome options:

Have you looked into XO Jet? Do a search on them. They just went to a 8on 6 off schedule for a ton of domiciles, and if you don't live in one, you can still live somewhere else on the 15on 13off schedule I believe.

There are so many "Options" for qualified Pilots these days, why would anyone want to exercise the s-itty option of "Options"?

And when Options lowers their standards even more to attract candidates, it will be on par with the Regional requirements. Hmmm. Be an FO at Options for 5-7 years in a crappy environment, or go to a Regional as a FO for 1-2 years, and then Upgrade to Captain on an E175 Jet.

Tough decision I know:rolleyes:

Freedom is not Free.
